A single mum
finds a spirit board in the garden of her new
apartment and unintentionally unleashes a horde
of evil. Ouijageist was shot across two weeks in January 2016
in the West-Midlands,
with a few pick-up shots done in August the same
year, and Nathan Head plays window-cleaner Mark,
a character who is attacked by a possessed
hosepipe after he accidentally touches the Ouija
board in the conservatory.
It could be claimed that Ouijageist is set in the same Universe as the
Amityville film series as it features
characters from previous Amityville movies
played by the original actors, Lesley Scoble
reprises the role of Karen Harper from 4Digital Media's 2015 Amityville Playhouse (aka
The Amityville Theatre) and John R Walker
reprises the role of newscaster Peter Sommers
from Dustin Ferguson's 2017 entry Amityville:
Evil Never Dies. Peter Sommers also made an appearance in Tony Newton's
two films 2021's
Amityville
Hex and 2022's Amityville Exorcist as well as Dustin Ferguson's 2021
film Amityville
In The Hood. There was an advance screening of the original
rough-cut
of Ouijageist on May 7th 2018 at the Derby Quad
Cinema, as part of the Paracinema Festival, and
in 2019
the completed version of the movie was released
digitally, for a limited period, in Germany,
Japan and the UK. A North American re-release on
Prime Video with Wild Eye Releasing happened
during the Covid-19 lockdown on April 13th 2020
and a later physical media release with Dark Star Pictures / Uncork'd
Entertainment happened on May 5th 2020. |
