Sleep
was completed in 2013 after a year's
filming in Liverpool and the Wirral
peninsula, it was set in a dream world
run by Elves and cave-dwelling Vampires.
The main plot of Sleep followed a man
called Tom who, following the death of
his finacé, locates a new love interest
in the world of dreams, later teaming up
with a colony of forest Elves to fight
the dream-Vampires and rescue captured
"dreamers" from Vampire leader Daray,
played by Nathan Head. This
surreal-romantic horror, directed by
John Aldridge of Parallax Films, was
screened at the Woolton Picture House on
September 1st 2013 and a follow-on film
called Dreamsleep started production in
2019. Dreamsleep never got finished and
only a few scenes were shot with Nathan
Head's character hosting a self-help
group which helps people understand and
control their dreams. In 2020 decision
was made to edit down the footage from
both feature films into episodes of the
Dream State webseries. |
